Ben Clement serves as Executive Vice President, Maritime & New Builds, where he oversees maritime operations, technical operations and compliance functions, along with new build and refurbishment projects. Ben joined Carnival in 1996 and previously served as senior vice president, new builds, refurbishments and product development and assumed his expanded role in 2025.

In addition to managing the daily fleet operations and the deck and engine teams for Carnival’s 29 ships, Ben is leading the planning and construction of two additional Excel-class ships set to debut in 2027 and 2028, as well as a brand-new class of ships, nicknamed Project Ace, set for delivery in 2029, 2031 and 2033.

Ben has played a leadership role in the design, refurbishment and building of all of the line’s fleet over the last two decades. His innovative approach to ship and product design has allowed Carnival to introduce new classes of ships – including the Dream, Vista and Excel classes – as well as innovations such as the first roller coasters at sea.

Ben is a native of France and served as a navigation officer in the French navy, an officer on multiple merchant ships, and as a director at a shipyard in Toulon, France.

Ben holds a diploma of merchant marine officer, was the valedictorian of his class for the French navy officers’ school and is a graduate of the Stanford University School of Business executive program.
